Bill Schulz has appeared on Red Eye since its debut. He was Greg Gutfeld's "repulsive sidekick" and appeared on the panel. Schulz hosted his own segment, Schulz on the Street, where he interviewed people about an offbeat topic. He has guest hosted a few times as well, most recently on June 23, 2010. He was also the voice of Pinch, a talking New York Times newspaper. He appeared with Red Eye panelist Lauren Sivan and producer Tom O'Connor on the weekly Not LIVE! With Lauren, Bill & Tom podcast. Comedian Andrew Schulz, a cousin of Bill's, made his Red Eye debut in 2013.
In late 2013, Schulz left Red Eye, which was announced on November 21; his last episode aired exactly two weeks previously. The reasons for his departure were not immediately disclosed. He appeared on Sherrod Small's podcast, Race Wars, on November 22 and basically stated that it couldn't be discussed at this time.
In response to his departure, several members of the Activity Pit switched their profile pictures to images of Schulz and several pieces of media about Schulz were featured on the main page in honor of him.
